Rakemori is a private, invite-only catalog available as a web app and as mobile apps for iOS and Android. There is no public sign-up and no advertising. This page explains what data the service holds and why.
Your username, display name, an optional profile photo, and a securely hashed password (never the password itself). If you link a Google or Apple account, Rakemori stores that provider's account identifier and, when available, the email address associated with it — the email is shown to you for reference only and is never used to look up or match accounts.
Everything you add to your catalog: item titles, artists, formats, notes, cover art, and where things are physically located. This data is yours and is only visible to you, unless you choose to share a read-only link to your library.
If you mark an item as lent out, Rakemori stores the name and, optionally, the phone number of the person you lent it to. That person is not a Rakemori user — this information is entered and controlled by you, the account holder, as your own lending record. You're responsible for having a reasonable basis to keep this information about someone you know personally.
When you add an item, Rakemori sends a search query (like a title, artist, or barcode) to Discogs, Open Library, or Google Books to fetch cover art and details — no account or personal data is included in those requests. If you sign in with Google or Apple, that provider processes the sign-in according to its own privacy policy; Rakemori only receives what's needed to confirm which account you used.
Rakemori runs on the operator's own server. The iOS and Android apps connect to the same service. Data is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose beyond running the service.
Rakemori sets a single session cookie so you stay signed in. There are no marketing or advertising cookies. Rakemori uses Google Analytics to understand how the service is used — this collects app interaction events, a device identifier, and an approximate location derived from your IP address, and shares this data with Google. It does not collect your catalog contents or account credentials.
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Removing an item from your active shelves keeps it in your history rather than deleting it immediately, so you retain a record of what you once had — you can ask for full deletion at any time (see Contact below).
You can export a copy of your catalog from Settings → Library (Backup). You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Profile → Delete account. For a correction or help with either flow, contact hello@rakemori.com.
Rakemori is not directed at children and is used only among people personally invited by an administrator.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Rakemori after a change means you accept the updated policy.
